From Petra: The best option is to have your hotel book you a seat on the minibus that leaves between 6 - 6:30am (arrival approx. 8:30am) daily at a cost of 7 JOD p.p. If you want to depart later, we can arrange a taxi for 40 JOD for up to four people. It takes 1hr30-2 hours.
From Aqaba: There is a local bus around 1pm but it does not run on Fridays or Saturdays, though there is also a daily Jett bus at 8am, which you can book online. We can arrange a taxi for 25 JOD from downtown Aqaba, 30 JOD from Aqaba South beach or the port, or 35 JOD from Eilat (Wadi-Araba) border.
From Amman: Take the Jett Bus to Aqaba(10 JOD) then take a taxi from Aqaba for 25 JOD. A taxi from Amman to Wadi Rum would cost about 90 JOD.
Please note that Wadi Rum Village is without street signage, so we advise you to ring us when you arrive at the Wadi Rum Visitors Center so we can meet you at the entrance of the village.

You can rent a car from Aqaba or Amman for around 20-30 JOD per day. Travelling in Jordan is straightforward: signs are in English and an international driver’s license is not required. Wadi Rum is accessible from the Desert Highway which runs from Amman to Aqaba - just look for the turn-off which is indicated by numerous road signs. Wadi Rum is about 30km from the highway.
Leaving Wadi Rum We can book a taxi which will collect you at any time you wish to leave.

To Aqaba: A taxi costs 25 JOD to Aqaba city and 30 JOD to Aqaba South Beach, Eilat border or the port. Many guidebooks mention a bus to Aqaba in the morning. It exists, but it is unfortunately unreliable. This is not a tourist bus - it is a bus for the residents of Rum Village to go to school, work, doctor or other business. It leaves between 6 and 7am, before we usually return to the village from the camp. It does not run on Fridays and Saturdays, or any other day that the driver decides not to go - for whatever reason.
To Amman: Take a taxi to Aqaba Jett Bus Station for 25 JOD, and from the station there are frequent buses to Amman everyday at a cost of about 9 JOD.
Please call us when you start your journey to Wadi Rum so we can estimate your time of arrival. Once you are at the entrance of the Wadi Rum protected area, you have to go to the reception of the Visitors Centre to purchase your entrance ticket at the cost of 5 JOD, or use your Jordan Pass; and please make sure you request a receipt. Then ask the reception to call us to notify us of your arrival. Drive the last 6 km to reach Wadi Rum village where we will be waiting for you at the car-park at the entrance of the village to take you to our office.
When you arrive, you may be stopped on the way by men selling tickets: only purchase tickets from the visitor center, not from anyone else.
